The Jetsons was an animated sitcom by Hanna-Barbera from the early 60’s to the late 80’s it ran over three seasons and continues to rerun on different networks. Acting as the futuristic version to Hanna-Barbera’s other show ‘The Flintstones’ it takes place in a world of futuristic gadgets, flying cars and aliens.
The Jetsons focuses on the adventures of the Jetson family including George Jetson as the husband, Jane Jetson as the wife, and Judy as their teenage daughter.
Jane Jetson is a like a 50’s housewife stuck in the future, who loves shopping for household gadgets and working at the futuristic recycling company. In today’s post we’ll be showing you how to put together a Jane Jetson costume for fancy dress, Halloween or whatever event you need it for. So without further ado let’s begin the tutorial.
Jane Jetson Wig
The first thing to think about is Jane’s hair, she has short orange hair with bangs that defy gravity. You could use a wig such as the one above and style with plenty of gravity defying hair spray. Or if you have ginger hair you won’t even need a wig.
Jane Jetson Cosplay
Now let’s move onto the outfit itself Jane wears a purple dress with a large white collar. This adults Jane Jetson costume from Amazon features a dress, wig and boot tops. The child’s outfit set doesn’t include a wig, so that must be bought separately.
If the costume above is out of stock you can check out this alternate retailer Halloweencostumes.com, don’t forget to check the prices and reviews between different retailers before buying to secure the best deal and value.
The costume wouldn’t be complete without a pair of pink tights to go underneath your dress, just like the ones Jane wears on the show. You can pick a pair up from the link above or scour local thrift stores or even your own existing closet. Another item you’ll need is a pair of dark purple flats or for an even more futuristic look go for Gogo boots.
That is everything you’ll need to transform into this character. Before you leave don’t forge to check out the rest of our cosplay guides on the blog and follow us on social media for updates whenever we publish new posts.
